Only one batch this time, but it's a good one:

OH HAY ITSUKI! )

Bonus: A complete guide to all Haruhi CD releases from Season 1. Plus Lucky Star just because.
I love the fact that I can type "from Season 1" because of the upcoming second season. Hooray!

Part three of Kosuke Fujishima's new Mini-Goddess strip, which is being published on the spine of montly issues of Afternoon. In case you missed any of the previous panels, you can find them all linked here.

Also, the third issue of Chara-Mel magazine, continuing the trend established by the previous two, features an illustration of an anime heroine drawn by Kosuke Fujishima. Here's Yoko:

Oh hey, Yoko. AKA The Reason that I Did Not Watch Gurren Lagann Until Somebody Forced Me To.

Hmm, Yoko looks a lot better than Fujishima's previous effort, but still not nearly as good as his amazing Saber portrait. Oh come, Fujishima, you can do better than this. Where's the crazy dynamic perspective that you like to use in your manga? Where's, I dunno, your knowledge of human anatomy? Yoko's legs look like perfectly cylindrical tree trunks! And why doesn't she have a stomach? You draw Belldandy with a nice stomach, so why not Yoko? Nice detail on the gun, though. I guess.

The sad thing is... In the same magazine, there's a painting of Yoko riding a motorcycle, by a different artist, that totally blows Fujishima's rendition of Yoko out of the water. And yet it's Fujishima's Yoko that gets featured on the cover of the magazine. Sigh.

PS - This may or may not be the last scans post until mid-January or so, due to the fact that I'll be traveling over the holidays.

Also, as long as I'm in the Santa mood, a few quick links that you might enjoy:

Evil Editor's Best. Writing. Exercise. Ever.

A motherlong interview with Jeff Smith. But it never gets boring because it's, you know, Jeff Smith.

Behind the cut: More Disgaea 3 reveals, male Archer, and a ton of high-res T&A. I mean that literally. )

BTW I will be traveling around the world when the next issue of Playstation hits the stands next week, and if it happens to have a big Disgaea feature (which it probably will), I won't be able to scan and post until mid-January or so.

I am sorry that these are late, but for the record, I didn't actually procrastinate with this scans batch. I had them all scanned, edited, zipped, and thumbnailed way back on December 11th. However, between Badongo being down for a week, my internet connection going kerbonkers (still trying to fix that), and then a trip overseas, I haven't been able to upload anything until now. Oh well. Here we go.

Behind the cut. Lots of new game artwork and screenshot reveals. )

Ninja edit: Because it was requested on the SOS-Dan image boards, I did scan the rest of the Newtype calendar and uploaded it here. Only the cover is a Haruhi image, though.

And now for something really neat. This issue of Afternoon came with a DVD that includes a promotional video for the upcoming Fighting Wings special. The video includes an interview with Hiroaki Gohda, a message from Kosuke Fujishima, and a proper trailer for the Fighting Wings TV special allllll the way at the end. You can download the video here.

Between the promotional video and a foldout article inside the cover of Afternoon, Fujishima's redesign of the Angel Eater has been revealed. Warning: Large images behind the cut. )

Reminder: Previous Fighting Wings spoiler scans are here.

Although the official Ah! My Goddess anime homepage is still tight-lipped about the "Fighting Wings" special airing on December 8th, this month's batch of anime magazines have already published some previews.

Large images behind the cut. )

From the descriptions, it sounds as though the TV version will follow the Angel-Eater story in the manga almost exactly. The little black creature is labeled as a "servant demon" and it says that Mr. Fujishima designed him/her/it.

This issue of Dengeki PS2 also came with a bonus DVD loaded with game trailers, including the trailer for Disgaea 3. I know that you've all seen it before, but here's a high-quality VOB rip (52 MB) of the trailer. It's all widescreen and everything. ;)
