(By the way, DigiFlonne has been updated with a lot more PSP/DS/cell phone game artwork, here.)

First, Disgaea 3 scans courtesy of Playstation volume 422.

Moar downloadable characters! MOAR! )

Mm, you'd think that in the week that the DS game was released, there would be more magazine articles for me to scan. But no. Press coverage of the DS game has been incredibly sparse so far.

Oh well, here's something better: HARUHI DS. With adorable little sprites. OMG OMG OMG OMG.

Final Fantasy: Dissidia is looking more and more appealing. The new costumes for some of the characters - particularly Tidus - are pretty cool, too. And I do like me some fighting games. Where are all of the FF heroines, though? Ultimecia, not so much.

Ah, now THIS is more like it.

Behind the cut: Five pages. )

x-posted to [livejournal.com profile] disgaea, obviously.

Also, a quick shameless plug: DigiFlonne has been carefully archiving all of the promotional artwork related to the various portable versions of Disgaea - including the PSP and DS versions, and the two cellphone games. (Yes I'm including "Makai Gakeun" under that umbrella, even though it doesn't star Laharl, Etna, or Flonne.) Most unfortunately, the artwork for these games will probably never be collected in an artbook, hence my collecting and archiving it online. Hope that you'll find the gallery page useful. /end shameless plugging.

Behind the cut: Only ten pages this time. I guess the magazine coverage is finally starting to taper off. )

I also found a (slightly water-damaged) copy of the Disgaea anime artbook at a bookstore, and have thus consequently uploaded a bunch of new scans to DigiFlonne.

Behind the cut: More Disgaea 3 reveals, male Archer, and a ton of high-res T&A. I mean that literally. )

BTW I will be traveling around the world when the next issue of Playstation hits the stands next week, and if it happens to have a big Disgaea feature (which it probably will), I won't be able to scan and post until mid-January or so.

This issue of Dengeki PS2 also came with a bonus DVD loaded with game trailers, including the trailer for Disgaea 3. I know that you've all seen it before, but here's a high-quality VOB rip (52 MB) of the trailer. It's all widescreen and everything. ;)

Shin Petshop of Horrors?! One of my all-time favorite manga is in the midst of getting the sequel treatment and I was totally clueless?! Wow, I am really behind the times. Also of note: The original Petshop of Horrors manga is being re-released, and thank God because it sucks being a fan of a manga that's been out of print for fifteen years. I still have vivid memories of the days I spent combing every Book-Off in Nagoya and surrounding areas trying to find all ten volumes of the Petshop of Horrors manga. Eventually I got seven out of ten, which isn't too bad, if I do say so myself.

Finally, Akino Matsuri just released a fantastic and long-overdue Petshop of Horrors artbook. I picked up my copy today in Heiando and it was like, fangasm after fangasm. Fangasmic.

Also, you know what I love? The fact that the two most recent fandoms I've jumped into (Fate/Stay Night and Disgaea, respectively) are owned by creators that encourage and publish official doujinshi anthologies. Disgaea has four volumes of official doujinshi anthology, Disgaea 2 has two, and there are more on the way I believe. I have the first three Disgaea anthologies and they are made of awesome. (Yes, scans are coming.) Fate/Stay Night is up to... What, like, fourteen volumes by now? Maybe more. It's too overwhelming to try to keep up with all of the officially-endorsed Fate/Stay Night doujinshi anthologies, so today at Heiando I randomly picked up three that looked like they had good cover art. Grrrr shrink-wrapped comics I can't browse through in the store. How am I supposed to know if it's any good?

Finally, it's official: The anime VAs are going to be doing the voiceover work for the Ah! My Goddess PS2 game. Scan of new advertisements should be on my site ASAP.

EDIT: The new Kujibiki Unbalance anime and manga blows. /judgemental.

Well, it turns out that amazon.co.jp will indeed import that Disgaea 1997 calendar. I've already got mine on preorder. ^_^ (Honestly, I should have thought to check amazon.co.jp before complaining in my previous post. They are awesome in that they import nearly everything that's published in English. Including English translations of Japanese novels and manga, which I think is pretty awesome.)

Also, I went ahead and bought the six Disgaea novels. Haven't touched the Disgaea 2 novels yet as I expect it will take me a while to get through the first six. But I mostly went ahead and bought them because if my understanding of the reviews on amazon are correct, then Flonne/Laharl is officially canon in the novels. Which makes me a very happy little fangirl.

I finally finished Solaris and am still... digesting it. It was definitely one of the most thought-provoking books I've ever read, but it's taking me a while to process all of said thoughts that have been provoked. It probably doesn't help that I'm simultaneously 1/3 of the way through Haunted, and reading Palanhuik tends to overstimulate and then shut down my brain by turns. Plus I'm supposed to be forcing myself to read the Ah! My Goddess novel, but right now I don't care about Freya and there's only so much of Skuld acting spoiled that I can take.

And now, some Goddess humor. )
