And now for something really neat. This issue of Afternoon came with a DVD that includes a promotional video for the upcoming Fighting Wings special. The video includes an interview with Hiroaki Gohda, a message from Kosuke Fujishima, and a proper trailer for the Fighting Wings TV special allllll the way at the end. Between the promotional video and a foldout article inside the cover of Afternoon, Fujishima's redesign of the Angel Eater has been revealed.

In the promo video, Fujishima said that he wanted to make it "cuter" to better match the tone of the anime.

No, seriously.

(I think it's a kind of cool design, though. And I can see how Fujishima's original design would be a lot more difficult to realize in animated form.)

Well, that is true. It reminds me of the creature designs from Kingdom Hearts, though. It's getting cuter the more I look at it.
