Fictional Characters Meme!
Sep. 9th, 2007 11:18 pmMeme time! From the always-awesome Girl-Wonder forums. Also from Ami Angelwings, who used a slightly altered set of questions. I originally copied my questions from Ami's post and answered them, then went back to look at SKJAM's post, and was surprised to see that the original questions were slightly different. Well, I liked my answers to Ami's questions too much to delete them, but I wanted to have some more fun by answering the original questions as well. So in the end, I answered both sets of questions. I know, I'm a dork.
Anyway... the meme!
First, select ten fictional characters by whichever method you like best, and number them one through ten.
Here are my characters! I listed them alphabetically just because.
01. Arjuna
02. A.J. Crowley
03. Belldandy
04. Draupadi
05. Dana Scully
06. Dani Moonster
07. Hanon Houshou
08. Hermoine Granger
09. Lassie
10. Sailor Starfighter
Next, answer these questions!
( My answers behind the cut. Don't peek at the questions until you've made your list of characters! )
The original meme did not involve tagging, but I'm going to use the Ami wrinkle here and go ahead and tag five people. ;)
I tag
furikku,
goldenflames,
ladykleo,
meiousei,
novel_tea, and anyone else who wants to do it. You don't have to answer both versions of the questions unless you really want to.

tricianna: Harry Potter recipes. Yum.

fanthropology: Professional authors present alternative Harry Potter endings.
Via fandom_lounge: Play-by-play spoilers for the entirety of Deathly Hollows. For those of you who want spoilers but don't want to squint through the leaked copy of the book. Even for those of you who a) don't want to read the leaked copy or b) intend to wait until Saturday, I still recomment this link for after-Saturday viewing. Why? Because
theanapirate is flippin' hilarious and her play-by-play of Deathly Hollows is EPIC. EPIC, I tell you. (Note: This post is flocked to the

The Non-Frivolous
A 'Pimp Your Favorite CoC' meme for International Blog Against Racism Week. Announced early to give people time to prepare. Now I finally have that motivation to write a post about Devi's Tara that I've had sitting on my computer for, like, forever.
Take Action for the Jena Six. Seriously, you guys. It only takes a minute.

Other than movies related to long-running anime series, or "movies" that consisted of a series of experimental shorts (hello Amazing Nuts!), Paprika and Toki wo Kakeru Shoujo ("The Girl Who Leapt Through Time") were the two biggest true anime movies last year. Well, them and Gedo Senki. But Gedo Senki was powerfully un-good, so we won't waste time discussing it in this post, since it's already been criticized to death all over the internet. Anyway, what's interesting about Paprika and TokiKake is that they're both based on classic science fiction novels by the same author, Tsutsui Yasutaka.
And I watched them both last week for the first time. So here are my jumbly-thoughts about both.
( Paprika. Cut for vague plot-related spoilers, and explicit romance-related spoilers. But if you don't care about knowing who will hook up with who (hint: it's obvious from the beginning), go ahead and read! )
( Toki wo Kakeru Shoujo. No spoilers. )

ETA: I finally found Ramayana 3392 #2 at Thecomicguru.co.uk. They had only one copy left in stock. Score!
The other thing that I used my credit card for yesterday... I bought a cheap used Japanese PS2. The white one. Because the Ah! My Goddess game drops today (and my copy should be on my doorstep by tomorrow morning), so yeah. In other gaming news... Remember Fate/Stay Night Realta Nua? Likely the most hyped game in Japan short of anything with the words Final Fantasy in the title? Yeah, it was supposed to have been released on January 31st. And that's after the initial release date (Christmas 2006) was pushed back a month. And here it is, February 22nd, and no copies of the game are anywhere in sight. I logged onto my Amazon.co.jp account to see what was up. Realta Nua is still listed among my "not yet shipped" orders, even though the "estimated delivery date" is still listed as "February 2nd". Sure.
But Virgin Comics are coming to me, and that makes me happy. ( More Virgin Comics blabbing: End of Story, Asura Analouges, and Nicolas Cage. )
And now, ganked from
