One of my local coffee shops has that sign, only with a kitten instead of a puppy. Either way, I adore it.

And every child I've seen in there has been both well-behaved and attended! Surely this is not coincidence.

Best variant of that I've seen is "--will be given espresso and a kazoo." They even had one of those cheapo party favor kazoos taped to the sign, like an ever-present threat. Beautiful.

I wish my mother had taken me to that coffee shop when I was about six, then. I was puppy crazy. :) The espresso on the other hand...now that I'm more grown up I can appreciate how giving kids that would totally stress out their parents or caregivers!
