Mini-Goddess XX and bonus scans
First! Part four of Kosuke Fujishima's new Mini-Goddess strip, which is being published on the spine of montly issues of Afternoon. In case you missed any of the previous panels, you can find them all linked here.

TOP: If you can't choose between carrots and eggplants, then--
BELLDANDY: In that case, just become friends with both of them!
CAPTION: CONTINUED ON THE DECEMBER ISSUE!
I have faith that that wasn't the punchline, and that there's some sort of cannibalism joke coming up in a panel or two. I hope.
Anyway, it's extremely difficult to tell from the scan, but the spine of this month's Afternoon was covered in rainbow sparkle glitter. As was the cover of the magazine.

There's actually glitter all over Belldandy's face and body, too. It's just that my camera's flash has washed away a lot of the sparkliness.
Now, for the surprise 20th Anniversary figures:

In the upper right-hand corner is the figure that came with this month's issue. It's... Holy Bell and Karasu Yasutoshi, the titular character of Karasu Yasutoshi. Eh... Karasu Yasutoshi is one of those manga that I think I would probably find really, really hilarious if I were a forty-year-old male Japanese salarydrudge. But unfortunately I am not, and Karasu Yasutoshi is just Not My Thing. He must be pretty popular, though, because I'm guessing that most of the actual target demographic of Afternoon probably thinks that this weird little figure is the bee's knees.
Anyway, one of the 20th Anniversary extras that came with this issue of Afternoon is a complete list of every single character to ever appear in the manga, EVER, in order of appearance. There are 160 entries, and they encompass everybody up to and including Chrona's cat. The newest group of demon characters, however, didn't make the list.
Bonus page of awesome. It's juvenile, I know, but I still lol'd.

Yesterday was not only the release of November's Afternoon, but also volume 06 of Chara-Mel. Unfortunately, the magazine has broken its trend of having Fujishima illustrate famous characters to put on its cover. In fact, there's no Fujishima artwork at all in this issue. (The cover is just a generic anime-styled illustration of Nia and Yoko from Gurren Lagann.) However, this issue of Chara-Mel has upped the ante by including no less than 12 bonus posters, whereas previous issues only have one poster, or no posters at all. Anyway, a lot of the posters are basically famous female characters illustrated by a variety of manga and doujinshi artists. And here's Skuld, as rendered by Takahito Ekusa, in both full-page and pullout-poster mode:

And here are Belldandy and Sakura, by Hidenori Matsubara.

Lovely.
