My totally white Avatar cast, let me show you it.

What the hell, M. Night Shyamalan?

What. The. Hell.

See also: 21, Wanted, The Prince of Persia, the Dragonball movie, and Speed Racer. Just off the top of my head and in the last year alone.

What the hell, world?

What. The. Hell.

Edit: Letter-Writing Campaign, GO!!!

Well, I've got my bingo! On both cards.

You just wasted a lot of words getting out nothing more than a classic is-ought fallacy.

Your comment. Your comment, and people who think like you, is the reason WHY we're stuck with this "stupid, short-sighted, and elitist" casting decision. Oh and it's fucking racist, too.

If you're really not interested in defending it, then stop defending it.

I'd suggest you do some more reading up on this issue, particularly the posts linked here (http://nenena.livejournal.com/188361.html), before you open your fool mouth and try to contribute your opinion anywhere again.

Ah, there seems to be a miscommunication here. I've taken a closer look around here, and while I was always taught that "intelligent debate and discussion" means a free exchange of ideas, I see that you were taught that it means "parrot the views of the blogger".

Change, real change, which appears to be what you are rightly after on this issue, is not going to be done by petitions, or overbearing ranting, or snuffing out any perceived dissenting voice, but by understanding and discussion of the issue, support of the producers/directors/etc. that are getting it right, and, for those that have the opportunity, putting out movies that break the cycle.

Unfortunately, only one option is keyed to feeding egos. Now that I see how you do things around here, I see the voice coming from my "fool mouth" will be better put to use elsewhere. I apologize for the inconvenience.

Thank you for the Soul Eater synopses/info, by the way. They are the reason I initially came here, and an informative resource I intend to continue using. I think I can probably stomach this site once a month. GOOD. DAY.

1. If you'd actually taken a look around here, you would have noticed that I DO frequently rec, plug, and gush about those who "get it right," especially comics, TVs, and movies created by and for marginalized groups, all the freakin' time. That's half the point of this journal.

2. Actually, letter-writing campaigns can and do change things for the better. Just look at any example from comics or TV shows. Even if we can't get the Avatar cast changed, it's still an important thing to do, to get our voices out there.

3. Having said that, however, this is also a personal journal, and a place where I sometimes vent. Not trying to do anything constructive. Just venting my frustration. (Although I did link the much more constructive letter-writing campaign in both of my vent posts already, so natch.) And what you've done is: you showed up in the comments of my vent post, told me to "give it up" and poo-pooed the idea that this was anything to get upset about in the first place, then proceeded to attempt to change your tune (but not really) when you were challenged on your stupidity. Go ahead and look back at your first comment. And then the subsequent ones. See what you did there?

GOOD. DAY.

And that, boys and girls, is what we call "pitching a shitfit."

Excellent flounce, though. A+++++, would wank again.
