Pichi Pichi Pitch translated manga vols. 6 and 7 (long overdue)!

Volume 06

Page 91: In the English version, Hamasaki tells Rina, "Don't say goodbye to me." In the original, it wasn't an order, but a declaration of his own intent: "I won't say goodbye to you." I also much prefer Rina's "Someday I'll return to you" rather than "Someday I'll come to you," but that's just me.

Page 213: The Japanese text here is really, frustratingly vague. Del Rey has the ancient ones say "We can feel the warm love that permeates all living beings." I think the Japanese text is closer to "We live on as the love within all living things."

In the end notes, I think it's kind of odd that they put a picture of Sara right next to text that reads "Pink Hamaori: The Artist's True Face." They do it again with a picture of Seira and the same text ("The Artist's True Face") in the back of Volume 7. It's just that the text ("The Artist's True Face") makes it sound like that's a picture of Pink Hanamori instead of one of her characters. It's especially confusing in Volume 6, because the picture of Sara, while originally orange-colored in the Japanese release, is reprinted in black and white in the Del Rey version. So it's kind of hard to tell that it IS supposed to be Sara, instead of a self-portrait of the artist. That picture of Sara looks really generic.

That's it for Volume 6, really. I found a LOT more mistakes on my end than were on the Del Rey end. The appropriate sections of Pearl Song have been edited accordingly. Mostly I screwed up the last speech of the Ancient Ones, which is kind of important as it's the lynchpin to the entire plot... (*headdesk*)

Volume 07

None. Hooray!
