What I see now looks odd to me. While there were (and still are) problems with SUP after it bought Russian LJ, it has nothing to do with censorship. They just added their own links and ads without asking users if they need it. For example, all the links to the main page now lead to livejournal.ru, even though I have English as my journal's language. And all these makings words unsearchable... Just weird.
I think this one will be sorted out right quick. I'd try rational response first before going on the war wagon on this one.
I think LJ has a right to restrict a couple of things illegal in the US. Google also filters out kiddie porn searches in the US. However, they're being idiots about it. As such, they need to be mocked.
I believe "Wow these people are fucking idiots" is a pretty rational response. (There's really no comparison between Google's filtering methods and LJ's asinine methods.)
While I don't suppose I can BLAME them for not knowing all the ins-and-outs of searching for hate speech and child porn, it's still just a very inefficient way of trying to deal with that kind of problem. Oh, management-types, why you gotta be so not-practical?

It's a small nugget, but I am clinging to it.

If not, then you blast them.
Just saying keep the blasters on a low setting for now.
