Vaguely spoilery thoughts on the latest chapter of Tsubasa Chronicle

1. I can't believe that we've had three chapters in a row that ended without somebody getting stabbed, maimed, or killed.

2. I'm disappointed that Kurogane apparently isn't going to go all Tenel Ka on us. (Because, really? Tenel Ka lost her [spoiler spoiler], and had to learn how to use her other [spoiler spoiler], and became that much more of a lightsaber-weilding badass because of it.) On the other hand, this lovely new Fuuma-delivered deus ex machina plot device has served the purpose of ensuring that Fai and Kurogane are a) bound together forever and b) thisclose to having a makeout session any day now, so I guess I can forgive CLAMP for that.

3. Alternative Universe Not!Evil Fuuma is way too much fun.

4. Hello upcoming resolution to dangling Seishirou plot thread! I was hoping that CLAMP would get around to solving that soon, since they're tidily wrapping up every other subplot in the series.

...So, yeah. Is CLAMP ever going to finish X, or are they just going to continue with this Tsubasa/xxxHolic nonsense?

Don't mind me, I'll just be hiding in the corner with my Cardcaptor Sakura manga....*sigh*

Think of Tsubasa/xxxHolic as a way for CLAMP to tell a bunch of AU endings of X that involve most of the characters living happily ever after.

Especially Fuuma, who is really, really awesome when he's good instead of evil.

(Officially, CLAMP is never going to finish X. Apparently they had an ending planned, but Asuka magazine said that the ending was too bloody/violent for their target demographic, but CLAMP refused to edit it, and now... I dunno. But they're not going to finish it anymore.)

Well...if by "happy ending" you mean "Subaru and Kamui make out a lot," then maybe I'll consider reading it. ^.~

Different X characters get a happy ending in almost every world. Sorata and Arashi live happily ever after in one world; Yuzuhira and Kusanagi get a happy ending in another world; Karen shows up in several worlds, once as a circus performer; and there's more, but I can't think of them all off the top of my head.

Even in the creepy horrible "X" world, at least all of the X characters are getting along and working together (by the end of the story arc) instead of trying to kill each other. Their world is post-apocalyptic, but at least it's not doomed, and there are strong hints that they'll be able to rebuild what they have left.

Oh yeah, and Subaru and Kamui make out a lot. But they're twins in that particular world, so... ew.

Urk. Not sure that does it for me. Mayhaps instead I will enjoy CLAMPness vicariously through you. Actually I have my hands full giving some heavy lovin' to the Fullmetal Alchemist manga and waiting for the end of Fruits Basket, so that ought to hold me for awhile as far as manga goes....
