Lovely.

Well, there's been a database error at fictionpress.com, and a bunch of new stories (including, er, mine) aren't being listed on their appropriate category pages, and aren't showing up in any searches.

The only "Help" URL on the site - support.fictionpress.com - has been showing up as a 404 error since at least August 8th (when I first checked), if not earlier.

There are no help forums. There is no contact information for the administrators of the site, anywhere. There's not even any contact information that shows up on a WHOIS search.

Zero site support and completely anonymous, unreachable site administrators. Lovely.

ETA: Oh, hell. According to the second comment here, the fictionpress.com help/support page has (maybe) been down for at least eight months. What the hell, people?! Just what the hell?

Sooooo.... Does anybody know of a fiction-hosting website like fictionpress.com, with the same sort of flexible interface, reviewing structure, and potential for massive exposure as the aforementioned, but without the total and complete lack of user support?

ETA The Second: Problem fixed! OMG WTF. After twenty days, the damn database error just magically resolves itself the day after I make a pissy post in my livejournal?! Hmmm, maybe the universe really does revolve around me....

mediaminer.org might be a option, but you won't get the same level of reviews.

Thanks for the tip. I'll check it out!

Clearly Krishna wants himself to be written about. =)

If that's true, then He needs to learn a bit about search engine indexing. My story still isn't showing up when I try to search for it on fictionpress.com (or my author's name, for that matter). Well, at least it's now showing up listed in the appropriate category. That's something.

This is the man who can drive a chariot, resurrect people, and quite possibly cook a decent meal. I'm sure that he'll figure out search engine indexing.

Somehow, it seems like, in general, Krishna and the Internet would go well together. He gets tons of adoring fans, and we never get bored. =)
