Dog Breeds Anthropomorphized as Animu Characters: Part 1 | Part 2

Love love love the idea, but this particular artist's execution is... er, disappointing. I do like her take on the Yorkie, Beagle, Pomeranian, Samoyed, and Rottweiller. The rest are just generic-looking animu characters with dull-eyed pouty faces, which doesn't really work when you're trying to personify, you know, dogs of all things. The Collie/Sheltie picture is just a world of ugh, no.

Does anybody know of any similar attempts to work with the same concept? Which might have been pulled off better?

I kind of love the German Shepard and the Jack Russel Terrier ^^; but yeah some are just pretty pretty anime characters. I've never heard of an attempt like this- I mean, I've seen anthro dogs, but never gijinka breeds.

I like the Doberman. For some reason it actually remembers me to mine.

The concept is original, but I suppose it has to be hard to come with ideas for humanized dogs when keeping the pretty style.

The most similar thing I can think of was a book of anthropomorphized tea kinds. And it failed at looking related to the original concept, a lot.

I don't know about dogs anthropomorphized as humans, but I know Emlan on DevArt has done the opposite: turning human characters from Bleach/FF/JoJo's/Hetalia/Homestuck/etc into dogs.

Oooh yeah, I love Emlan's stuff!

I've seen the opposite done plenty of times before (isn't there an internet rule that "if it exists, somebody on deviantart will make a wolf version of it"?) but this is the first time that I've seen dogs translated into human form.

Boo no dachshund :c It is kinda sad. Dogs have such distinctive and variety of shapes. Think of all the lovely long noses * v *

Thanks for sharing this rad concept, it's making me inspired!
I'm now loving the idea of drawing gijinkas of animal races ~ I'm currently studying different types of face and body shapes and I think that idea would be very helpful to put what I'm learning into practice.

I agree, the art of the author is ♥AWESOME♥ ... but the execution is quite poor, they look nothing like their dog counterparts and that kind of defeats the purpose ;;; ...
