I bummed about that too, but I don't blame them for that. I don't think that anybody working at Hasbro could have expected that the fandom would explode where there would even be a demand for a soundtrack in the first place. I think it's virtually unheard of for a children's television show to release an official soundtrack, outside of notable exceptions like Sesame Street.
I'm just happy that Hasbro is responding to the fandom enough to release Luna toys and "Equestria Girls." And also by letting us get away with all of the unofficial soundtracks and Youtube song uploads and remixes and such. They've just been incredibly cool about all of the fan-to-fan media sharing so far.
