O RLY?! Hontou.

The Pink Ranger wants you to buy R1 Suzumiya Haruhi DVDs. Also, the talking cat.

Kyon wants friends. Normal people, please.

Alien entities are leaving secret messages in your source code.

Meanwhile, the Pizza Hut Japanese Liberation Front jumps on the bandwagon, too.

Obnoxious guerilla marketing or the single most awesome marketing campaign ever?

ETA December 23rd: The source code of asosbrigade.com is STILL changing with a new hidden message every couple hours. Wow. They're really going the extra mile for this, aren't they? Code-geass.com is trying to keep up with the pace of the source code changes of asosbrigade.com, but I don't think they've quite managed it. Penguin Lelouche still wins at everything, though, so that's all right.

Also, myspace!Kyon befriend myspace!Lelouche. HOW AWESOME IS THAT?! I love Bandai/Kadokawa so much right now. How many other companies would embrace and promote a pretty vicious parody of themselves that way?

Plus, the secks!Itsuki image macro that has resulted from all of this has simply won the internet. There. Done.

What makes me happy is this: Kadokawa and Bandai get it. They get the source material and the fandom so much that it's scary. They get December 22nd. They get the O RLY owls. They get that American fanbrats won't be happy unless there's Japanese (which most of them can't read and can't understand) all over the promo website and promo video. They get that they're not going to win over the fanbase by acting hostile towards the fansubs that they know everyone has downloaded already.

I am not so much happy that they "get" Haruhi in her Santa bikini, or have to use a cute and dumb Japanese girl in a waitress uniform in the promo video, but then again, that is true to the sexist source material, so whatever.

And I'm still boggling that they found such a dead ringer for Shamisen. 0.o;;

Personally, I think that the Code Geass parody is the best thing to come out of this. Especially when poor penguin!Lelouche has to point out, "As you can see, I lack the proper appendages to sign a contract."

I... have no words...

This is so scary, I don't know whether I'm disappointed or glad that I'm not a major Harutard.
