The only answer I can come up with is Because Plot. (LOL, TRC and plot? Pfffft.) They needed to get rid of the extra S&S, so they just erased them in the dullest, stupidest way possible. They could have had the clones kamikaze against FWR or something with their considerable Mommy and Daddy powers, but nooooo.

The more I think about it, the less it makes sense. The clones dying basically because they were clones after Clow and Yuuko paid such a price for their legitimization renders their sacrifices pointless, doesn't it?

It's not just me thinking CLAMP keeps rendering the characters' big prices and sacrifices pointless, right?
