Scanspam Interlude: One More for the Road
Oops, meant to include this one in the previous post, but I forgot since I didn't actually have it scanned yet. Anyway, here's one more for the road, since I promised
the_terrible that I would scan it, and because it's also very very pretty:

Click for high-res!
That's Mikoto Misaka and, uh, her clone (also named Misaka) from To Aru Majutsu no Index. Which, by the way, is a series that I have a love-hate relationship with, mostly because it's such a mixed bag. It's a mixed bag in terms of characters (Misaka rocks, but her two co-stars Tomo and Index are boring as dirt), and in terms of storytelling (a fantastic premise that completely falls apart and descends into an utter incoherent mess of a story, especially once the clones are introduced - hmmm, sounds familiar). Accelerator was a great villain though, extremely reminiscent of Dilandau from Escaflowne - and yes, in my book, that's a good thing.
I'm happy that apparently there's going to be a Misaka-centric prequel anime series airing in October. If this means that I can get moar Misaka awesomeness without being accompanied by boring Tomo, Index the Obnoxious Moe Blob, or the patently ridiculous clone storyline, then I'm all over that.
