Nifty-spamming

Proof that Kadokawa/Bandai are marketing genius: You, yes you, can vote for the dub voices used in the English version of The Melancholy of Suzumiya Haruhi.

Proof that Shakugan no Shana is awesome: Because yaoi makes any bishoujo series even better. Also, self-parody ending credits FTW.

Proof that physics is awesome: These icons. 'Nuff said. ETA: Also these.

Proof that even shudder-inducing internet perverts have their awesome moments: This is still funny.

And finally, proof that Japan is FLIPPIN' INSANE:

This is for all of you with eighteen hundred dollars to spare.

This post is officially...

ETA: Sequel now posted here.

Flippin' insane is right. Besides, we all know what crazy fanboys do to life-sized dolls.

I do not recognize the blonde in the bottom picture.

Must vote tonight after work >.>;

Blonde = teenage!Gilgamesh as he appears Hollow Atraxia. Still a pervert, though.

Looking a second time... is Cuchulainn grabbing Gilgamesh's crotch?

Whoa, that is one expensive life-sized doll. It looks pretty accurate, but it's still a bit creepy (then again, I'm not part of the target audience). I bet the fanboys with the mindset and insane money to get that thing would be pleased with it though. And the bottom picture is just pure win.

Those Physics icons are awesome, but the icontist’s math ones are pretty quirky too. They remind me of how I'd prefer doing derivatives over relearning cellular respiration. *cough* Life's seriously complex.

Thanks! What I like best about the bottom picture is that it's an actual screenshot from Fate/Hollow Atraxia and not just some internet fanart. Er, minus the text, which I added. Because Type Moon is made of win.

I think what creeps me out the most about this doll is the way that Saber's dissproportionate anatomy is brought to life. I mean, her body is designed in a cartoonish, unrealistic way; and that's to be expected, since she's an anime character. Her character design works fine within the anime and game, and it works fine for the various 12"-or-thereabouts figures and dolls that have been made of her. But when you're forced to see that cartoonish body blown up to life-size proportions, it just drives home how strange her anatomy is.

Do you have a link for those math icons?

Ah, I knew that picture was familiar! I was guessing it was from Fate/Hollow Ataraxia, but I didn't want to jump the gun. Type Moon is made of win indeed.

I pretty much agree with you on that Saber doll. With animanga, and most art in general (I'm not including artwork that depicts human figures realistically) can pull off unrealistic character designs, life-sized dolls can't. Heck, just looking at it makes me wonder if a person could live with Saber's crazy anatomy in real life! Yikes, I don't even want to imagine it (or the possible anatomy, since one semester of it burnt me immensely).

Eh, I found the mathematics icons from browsing around the iconist's icon journal, but this post has a few quirky ones. I really like the integral one (the log (cabin) + c one).

While* (in place of the "With" in the second paragraph)

There's a reason I shouldn't be online late at night.
