Something incredibly small and easy that you can do to help bloggers in Iran.

Seen C&P'd around the net:

"Iran security forces are hunting for bloggers using location/timezone searches. If anyone is on twitter, set your location to Tehran and your time zone to GMT +3.30. The more users at this location, the more of a logjam it creates for forces trying to shut Iranians' access to the internet down."

Some quick Google sniffing leads me to think that this is actually a pretty legit strategy. At the very least, it certainly isn't doing any harm.

Did that two days ago. I'm sure the protestors don't agree with me that much, but quite simply it's do or die for them if they want their country back. I should help any way I can.

There's also the green avatar thing, but I don't think that means much.

Thanks for sharing it. I was wondering what useful I can do for them except for spreading the news (which I don't think would help much). :) Oh, and changing the username/nickname to Iranian might also be helpful, I think.

Kudos to being proactive. If I still remembered the password to my Twitter, I'd definitely join in. Thanks for spreading the word. ^_^
