I has a Dreamwidth.

I honestly don't plan on using it for anything, other than following my friends (and some awesome communities *COUGH*COUGH*) who are moving over there. But! If you are on Dreamwidth, and you wanna have our circles make a venn diagram, then feel free to add me or whatever.

And sorry, I don't have any invite codes to give out. :( I don't think anybody else who did the "wait for my OpenID to get automatically upgraded" method got any invite codes, either...?

It's a livejournal-like website founded by some ex-LJ employees. The biggest differences between LJ and DW so far would be that:

1. DW rebuilt the LJ code from the ground up, got rid of all of the bad antiquated coding, and are keeping the results open-source in order to facilitate further improvement.

2. DW has a more fan-friendly Terms of Service.

3. DW is an advertising-free site. The catch, however, is that you can't just sign up for a free account. You either have to pay to get an account, or you can get a free minimum-features account with an Invite Code.

Last month DW was in Closed Beta, and only people with invite codes could join. However, anybody who had a livejournal account could create an OpenID account on Dreamwidth, which allows you to have icons and leave comments on other people's journals, just not have your own. On April 30th, when Open Beta started, those of us who had previously set up an OpenID account on Dreamwidth got upgraded to free account users. So that's how I got my account. ;) However, I didn't get any Invite Codes to hand out.

Honestly, I don't plan on moving my journal to Dreamwidth, but a lot of people that I know are, so that's why I'm on there - just to follow them.
