Scanspam Week: The Power of Fugly Kitten Compels You
No, that is not We Love Meme, as I originally read the title when I saw this in the bookstore, but rather We Love Me-Me (pronounced "Meh-Meh"). This is the latest photo book from Sakurako Shimizu and Hanako Takeuchi, who together with their cats form the extremely unfortunately named Team FGM.
(LOL, yes, my book cover is scuffed. Wow my scanner is merciless.)
Anyway, for those of you unfamiliar, "FGM" in this case stands for "Fuku, Goma, Meme." These are the three cats that star in all of Team FGM's photobooks and merchandise. Fuku is a Scottish Fold who looks like Doraemon; Goma is an Exotic Shorthair who looks like Yoda; and Meme is the lovechild of Goma and some anonymous alleycat.
We Love Meme is a collection of photographs that follows Meme from birth (yes, literal gooey birth) until she is about nine months old.

But, speaking of memes... Isn't Fuku a dead-ringer for the I'm Poopin' cat?!
I mean, I realize that a lot of Scottish Folds have identical faces, due to their simplistic facial structure and uniform fur coloring... But still, damn. Once I thought of the the I'm Poopin' cat, now I can't unsee it every time that I look at a picture of Fuku.
