For those unfamiliar: Saint Young Men is a manga about Jesus and Buddha sharing an apartment in modern-day Tokyo. (Well, technically in Tachikawa, but whatever.)
No, really.
Also in this issue of Animage, and of somewhat more purient interest: A pullout Code Geass poster in which 25% of the illustration is taken up by C.C.'s completely bare ass.
This is the second time, to my recollection, that Animage has included full all-out nudity on one of their pullout posters. The first was a Shigurui poster that featured two completely naked men covered in blood and attacking each other with swords. Of course, their legs were strategically positioned to block out the naughty bits, but, nevertheless (and rather inexplicably), both men were completely and utterly bare-ass naked. I've never seen a single episode of Shigurui so I have no idea why two beefy dudes would be dueling to the death while butt-naked, but whatever.
So in the case of the Code Geass poster, there is no strategic positioning of anything, but naked!C.C. is facing away from the viewer so all we can see is her ass, not any of her frontal bits.
Notably, however, the Code Geass pullout poster illustration is also the cover illustration of this month's Animage. Granted, the version used on the cover of the magazine is strategically cropped... But a good three centimeters of C.C.'s exposed buttcrack and attached buttcheeks are still plainly visible at the bottom of the magazine cover.
S'funny because normally Japanese magazines don't seem to have a problem showcasing lots and lots of barely-covered boobies on their covers, but at the same time, there seems to be a huge reluctance to show any of the A part of T&A. Thus, we salute you, C.C., for making pioneering strides this month in terms of smashing apart Japan's reluctance to show poorly-drawn jailbat ass on the cover of a nationally mass-marketed magazine.
Way to go, C.C. Way to go.
