Mini-Goddess XVIV and bonus scans
First! Part three of Kosuke Fujishima's new Mini-Goddess strip, which is being published on the spine of montly issues of Afternoon. In case you missed any of the previous panels, you can find them all linked here.
RISA: I get along well with them now, but... I don't know which one I should get closer to.

Second! Twentieth Anniversary shenanigans!

Breakdown:
1. There will be a bonus figure packaged with next month's issue of Afternoon. From the silhouette it looks like possibly one of the angels, or maybe just Belldandy with wings. I dunno.
2. Fan event in Tokyo.
3. KOSUKE FUJISHIMA AH! MY GODDESS COMPLETE ARTBOOK oh hell yes FINALLY. I can't believe it took them twenty years to put out a proper manga artbook for this series. No publication date or other information, but the point is, there IS an artbook in the works.
4. Some sort of mysterious surprise bonus with the December issue of Afternoon. More details will be revealed in next month's issue.
5. A series of three bonus figures will be released with the January, February, and March issues of Afternoon.
So that's going to be the big wrap-up to the 20th anniversary year. Since I personally love figures, I'm not complaining. And ARTBOOK. I am so so so so so so so happy about that artbook announcement, like you have no idea.
Third! Lots and lots of random scans from this month's chapter. I had to stop myself from scanning the whole chapter. Anyway, first order of business: HILD.

That shirt... Those lips... My brain is broken. Hild is going to be our first fashion victim for the evening.
Next, the appearance that we've all been waiting 60 chapters and five years for: MARA'S BACK.
Yes, that's her complete appearance in this chapter, every single panel. Mmm, I wish we could have seen her full outfit. It looks great from the bust up, though.

Belldandy's outfit is the worst, in my opinion By far. I actually kind of like Skuld's outfit, but I can't figure out what the belt buckles on her shirt are attached to. Urd's outfit would be all right, if not for the gloves and the weird tails on the back of her shirt. Seriously, who wears lacy gloves around the house? Probably not Urd.

As for the guy, he's as attractive as mermen... Evil Fujishima doesn't want any handsome and interesting man in this series, which is sad.

As for fashion disaster, it's pretty fun. Remember Urd's outfit from Shohei's story? Now mommy copies her daughter's style. Or F-ma is being lazy. Urd's outfit is more or less ok. Think of Mara who always wears gloves. In this chapter my favourite girls copy each other, just look at Mara's hair, it looks like Urd's. And those weird lacy stuffs on her back look like rudimentary wings. Bell's outfit makes me think of a saying "I'm a bellflower girl from a Ding-dong town". Skuld's is not very well seen, so she's disqualified from the competition. And the winner is Mara. I actually like her outfit a lot, and she's got her "assets" back again. As you said, now we need a full view. Oh, and I love adult Hild's new boots.
By the way, did Hild summon the monster or fight it?

Urd's dress reminds me of something that Goddess-Urd would wear, and it's not so bad except for the gloves. But yeah, are they suddenly trying to find an intermediate point between Japanese clothing and Heavenly clothing?
And hooray for an artbook! I might actually considering importing it. Fujishima's style is always changing, and if rumors are true he's his own worst critic, so it might explain why he's waited until now to release one.

Thanks for the scans - they have an ultimately unsatisfying quantity of Mara content, but the fact that she and Hild are there at all (and the fashion disasters make up for it ten times over). I actually spent several minutes choking with laughter when I say the lips think. I mean, what the fuck, Hild? Seriously?
I don't particularly mind the sudden shift to the Heavenly Fusion style, because as the focus of the action seems to be shifting from Earth to the politics of the divine realm, so a slight out-of-this-worldly style of clothing makes some sense. But I find Urd's clothes strangely jarring in this chapter. There is something just wrong with this outfit...
Oh yes. My brain is also slightly broken by the fact Mara's "assets" look like she spent the last 6 years successfully investing them with huge returns. I'm just baffled by her magical breast size changes...
The story may be somewhat intriguing, especially if it pushes the "dissent among demon ranks" angle instead of the usual "monster of the week defeated by the power of love" tripe. Although it could turn out to be a complete disater either way...
