Mini-Goddess XVII, and Chara-Mel volume 5.
First! Part one of Kosuke Fujishima's new Mini-Goddess strip, which is being published on the spine of montly issues of Afternoon. In case you missed any of the previous panels, you can find them all linked here.

My mind is in the dirty place again.
I don't have any random scans from this month's actual manga chapter, because it was all so pretty that I couldn't choose what to scan. Anyway, there are two lusciously illustrated scenes: another flashback to Chrono's childhood, and then a gorgeous (if patently ridiculous) Chrono vs. Welsper kung fu sequence. It's nice to see Fujishima back in form illustrating action sequences. Now if only the story still wasn't so stupid.
Second! More Chara-Mel Magazine. Here's Kannagi by Kosuke Fujishima:
If I understand correctly, that's not an outfit that she wears in either the manga or the upcoming anime series. Rather, it's a magical girl outfit that Fujishima designed himself. Why? Because he can.
PS - Any similarities to the legendary Tamil folk heroine Kannagi is purely coincidental. But boy did that throw me for a loop when I first heard of the Japanese Kannagi series.
Oh, and one more thing.
Chara-Mel now features a serialized light novel about Fujishima's original magical girl mascot, Mell. The BIG PLOT TWIST in this month's feature was supposed to be the debut of a new character, The Mysterious Girl in the Photograph:

So, after actually reading (ugh) the silly chapter, I'm disappointed to report that NO, they don't actually reveal the identity of the mystery girl. They just build up the mystery. A lot. So maybe we'll find out next month?
I have my own theories, of course. If Mell is about to cross over with Sakura Taisen, that would be the most awesome thing ever. Especially if it means that she would get her own steam-powered mech.
