There is no new Tsubasa this week, so here, have a meme instead.

A) People who have been tagged must write their answers on their blogs and replace any question that they dislike with a new question formulated by themselves.
B) Tag eight people to do this quiz and those who are taggedcannot are free to refuse. These people must state who they were tagged by and cannot tag the person whom they were tagged by. Continue this game by sending it to other people.
My questions and answers....
1. What are your reasons for having a LJ?
I have pretty much the same answer as everyone else - originally the LJ account was just so that I could comment in communities. Then I discovered that I like to hear myself talk. (And share pretty pictures...)
2. What do you do before bedtime?
Vacuum my tatami, brush my teeth, take a shower, do sit-ups and leg stretches, flop down on my futon and read for about half an hour. Yes, I vacuum every night. You got a problem with that?
3. What would your dream vacation look like?
There are too many places on Earth that I want to visit, so I'll go for the most insanely awesome choice of them all: I'd freakin' love to be able to go into outer space! Ideally to the moon or Mars, but I'd settle for just some orbit around Earth.
4. What is the city of your dreams and why?
Honestly, it's still Minneapolis/St. Paul. Lots of diversity, access to everything that I need, plenty of beautiful nature and green spaces, great public transportation, and a decent market for every job that I'm interested in.
5. Are you an introvert or extrovert?
That really depends on whom I'm with.
6. Which is more blessed, loving someone or being loved by someone?
I think there's something not-quite-right about having to choose.
7. Do you trust easily?
Too easily.
8. If you found the car that you've always wanted to have but it's too expensive, what would you do?
There are no cars that I've "always wanted to have."
9. Is there anything that has made you unhappy these days?
A bunch of my gaijin friends leaving Japan next month.
10. Other than the usual (wallet, cellphone, etc.), what do you never leave home without?
Nail clippers. I *always* have a pair on hand. Nothing bothers me more than having one of those obnoxious little hangnails and not being able to do anything about it.
11. Is being cuddled by cats fun?
NO BECAUSE I AM HORRIBLY, HORRIBLY ALLERGIC.
12. How do you see yourself?
I'm really bad at self-evaluation. Um... Smart, with some asshole tendencies, working on improving the latter, tendency to put my foot in my mouth, creative, patient (or at least good at faking patience IRL), and very pleased with my physical looks (and blessed to have them).
13. Do you own a vast army of stuffed animals?
Not a vast army. More like a fairly decently-sized regiment.
14. What kind of person do you think the person who tagged you is?
AWESOME. And wickedly smart.
15. Would you rather be single and rich or married and poor?
To be perfectly, utterly honest: I do not intend to ever get married. Single and rich it is, then! Although, to be fair, I'd be happy being poor with a partner that I loved. But marriage is absolutely not a part of my life equation.
16. Given infinite resources and pretending that no animals are illegal for you to own (except humans), what animals would you keep as pets?
If it weren't for the allergies, I would love to have a giant cat, like a lion or a tiger. Primates would be ideal, too - How awesome would it be to share my hypothetical giant mansion and vast private forest with a family of bonobos? Other than that, though, the answer is obviously dogs. Sheltland Sheepdogs, Miniature Long-Haired Dachsunds, and Welsh Corgis are my top favorite breeds.
17. What's better, to give or to receive?
To give is to receive.
18. Who are your (fictional) heroes?
Haaaaan Solo, what-a-man Solo! (Now let's see if anybody remembers that.)
19. If you could travel ten years back in time and give one piece of advice to your past self, what would it be?
Stop taking him for granted. (Okay, I hope that's vague enough.)
20. What were your parents going to name you if you'd been born the opposite sex?
I don't know. But I *do* know that I was almost named Sara, which would have made me the fifth "Sara(h) K." in my fourth-grade class, and the fourth "Sara(h) K." in my AmeriCorps group. I am very glad that, in the naming dispute that between my mom and my dad that apparently happened shortly before I was born, my dad won. No offense, Mom. But I'll still glad that I'm not named Sara.
Okay, I... I altered a bunch of questions (don't kill me Ami!) because of the uncomfortableness factor. So, obviously, anybody who's tagged is also free to change, delete, and make up questions as they see fit. Speaking of which, I think it would be really neat to attempt to trace this meme all the way back to its origin, and see how the questions have changed along the way. But, meh, too lazy.

Elena is a more beautiful name than Sara, in my opinion. (No offense to any Saras out there!)

Then again, I also liked A Little Princess. :)
For the record, I have one of the plainest names out there: Nancy. :D
