This week's Tsubasa, a day late.

1. I laughed when the HORRIBLY TRAGIC OH MY GOD NOOOOOO! thing happened to Sakura. I laughed out loud. Because the exact same thing happened to her about twenty chapters back, and she survived THAT injury just fine. I don't doubt for a minute that CLAMP isn't going to find some way for her to survive this minor inconvenient shish-ka-bobbing, too. Also, it should be noted that giving a certain character the same dramatic injury twice in a row... Really kind of robs said dramatic injury of its dramatic impact. It was like, "LOL this again?!"

2. Yet another SHOCKING PLOT TWIST in a long string of SHOCKING PLOT TWISTS that is completely insane, utterly stupid, and feels like it was poorly tacked onto the story, rather than planned out from the beginning. This current storyline is now going the way of the Fay storyline: waaaaay too many "shocking!" twists, all piled together within the space of a few pages, and eventually your readers just start rolling their eyes. There were elements of Fay's story that I could tell had been planned out from the beginning, but parts of it screamed of CLAMP just making up shit as they went along. Same thing with this storyline.

3. So, the Sakura-Syaoran-Syaoran love triangle could now potentially be solved by the addition of a second Sakura. Okay. Well, that's convenient. I still would have preferred the threesome solution, though. Come on, Sakura, you could be making out with twins!

4. Wow, FWR's exposition has got to be the most awkward narrative trick that CLAMP has come up with yet. So FWR explains everything about the two Sakuras in ten long pages of exposition. Okay, but who exactly is he talking to? Oh, he's talking to Xing Huo. But she's dead, so is this a flashback? Yes, it is. Who is having this flashback?! None of the other characters present at the Syaoran/Syaoran fight were present when FWR explained everything to Xing Huo. Is it a flashback just being presented to the readers? That would be acceptable, but now the other characters are reacting to FWR's speech as if they heard/understood/actually had a clue what the hell was going on. I have no idea. CLAMP, I have no idea what was going on there. It's annoying enough when you make Yuuko (who is in another universe) talk to herself and then have other characters react as if they had been magically imparted with the knowledge of whatever she was saying. But to try the same narrative slight-of-hand while employing FWR as the Captain Exposition of choice is just... Well, it doesn't work.

5. Kurogane does nothing but stand on the sidelines and dramatically exclaim the names of other characters. Well, now he knows what it feels like to be Sakura in volumes 1 through 18 of the manga.
