The description of the stench brings back memories of the pink slime fiasco. It's not just a problem of nutrition intake, but unnecessary steps in processing is only going to increase risks of contamination (I mean, cutting up apples to sterilize them?). And no wonder employment rate is low, because management can't bother to manage people apparently.
