I want to join the chorus of "awesome!!" going on all over the internet, but the humorless bastard inside of me has a hard time finding anything "awesome!!" about the situation between Israel and Palestine.

Yeah, I don't find it too amusing either. It's like fangasming over a picture of Sailormercury when her picture is on a decaying corpse that was shot to death with many bullets.

Maybe that is an extreme example, but I think you just put into words exactly why I think that this is NOT awesome. Thank you.

I'm having a hard time deciding whether the comments on the Japanese news article, the ANN article, or the sos_brigade post are more boggle-inducing. The Japanese comments on the Japanese article are pretty bad, but the ANN comments are making my soul hurt like ouch. I'm all for humor in the face of tragedy, but I don't think that's what's going on here. It's more just people being ignorant of the situation. (And I love the part of the ANN thread where people think that Gaza is in Iraq, and that this whole thing is especially shocking because NOBODY in the middle east has ever heard of anime before.)
