ANN confirmed it so it's not a hoax unfortuantly. Still haven't seen any of his works (and currently arguing with my library so I can get a hold of Paprika, kafdnkajfnakdnf) but I'm shocked to hear he passed away at just 47. Really hoping that the movie he was working on is released eventually, it would be too damn sad not to.
