Anyway, this is from the inaguaral issue of Chara-Mel magazine. Which, BTW, is full of m'eh. I would never have bought it if not for the Saber-by-Kosuke-Fujishima displayed on the cover. The furoku bonus that came with this issue is a sturdy little desktop standee of Saber, made from the same illustration.

Bonus Death by Awesome: Some random scans of Belldandy from chapter 228 of the Ah! My Goddess manga. The plot of this chapter is... Well, it's kind of like that Buffy episode "Tabula Rasa." Keiichi, Megumi, and the Norns wake up together one morning with no memory of who they are. Predictably, comic hijinks ensue. Anyway, here are just some random scans. Posted only because of teh ooooooh pretttttttty.

Oh, and I apologize for the quality of these scans. Afternoon magazine is basically printed on newsprint, which is why these scans look like, er, newsprint. Because they are. Stupid crappy newsprint ink on stupid fiber-y lowgrade recycled paper. But, anyway, enjoy the scans.

1.62 MB	Keiichi seeing Belldandy "for the first time." She looks incredibly sexed-up in this pic, despite the fact that she's still wearing all of her clothes. Mmmm, it's definitely the face. Those are bedroom eyes if I ever saw them.
1.92 MB	Keiichi's vision of Belldandy. I guess this is what Love At First Sight looks like.

Fujishima-sensei is the god of character designs, they should just start hiring him to design characters for other mangaka's series! But umm..his original character isn't the cover pic? I'm guessing that's her in that bubble next to Saber?

Yep, that's her in the bubble next to Saber. The original character "Mel" appeared in a two-page spread right before the Saber pic. But yeah, she only showed up on the cover as a tiny image about 1/8 the size of Saber. ;) I'm not surprised, though. Saber has a built-in fanbase, so if you want to get people to read your magazine, you put Saber on the cover, not some new original character that nobody has ever heard of.

Wow, the Saber picture's pretty snazzy! Her eye color's off, but it's not much of a big deal. The image is nicely drawn, and it's possible Fujishima just decided to draw Saber with a little variation.

Okay, I’m giving too much thought to a simple image of Saber. I’m not even a Saber fanboy… Eek!
