Your Soul Eater moment of zen.
HOLY CRAP YOU GUYS
Final episode!!
It was awesome!!!
It was ridiculously awesome!!!
It was so awesome that it actually broke my television with the power of its sheer AWESOMENESS!!!!
(No seriously. During Maka's final moment of face-punching epic pwnage, the volume control knob popped right off the front of my TV. I swear to God, I didn't even touch it, the darn thing just popped right off. Trufax. This actually happened.)
Now for the minor quibbles with the ending.
Too much screentime given to Asura's silly facial expressions = not even time left for a decent "epilogue" for many characters. And seriously, you guys, that's the sort of thing that you can do during the ending credits, or at least in a thirty-second pastiche right before the credits roll. It would have been nice to see quick shot of Ox/Killik/Kim and their pals, maybe Eruka and Free riding off into the sunset, Mosquito mourning Arachne and vowing to fight another day, Giricco doing likewise, some resolution to the question of whether Ragnarok survived or not, Joe doing SOMETHING other than just standing around, Excalibur stalking Hiro again...
I mean, seriously. Closure, people. Thirty seconds. A lot of closure can happen in thirty seconds.
Did we really need to look at Black Star just sitting there during the entirety of the closing credits?
Oh well. The story wrapped up in an extremely satisfying way, as far as the seven main characters were concerned, so I'm happy with that.
Maka's last-minute zombie!blade form scared the shit out of me. But it was supposed to be scary (and "bad") so it was nice to see that it didn't save the day for her.
Points to the animators for remembering that Asura has black blood.
Points also for making his ultimate defeat make logical sense. I knew that in the end it wouldn't come down to brute strength, but rather to Maka's ability to mindfuck her opponents, Sailor Moon style.
Asura's last words cracked me up so hard, like you have no idea.
Darnit, I need to make screens.

Anyway, am glad Maka won in the way that she did - mindfuckery. And am looking forward to any screens/further comments you put on the final episode.
